Today, I’m going to demonstrate a great method for unloading a tall pallet without the risk of tipping it over. Some folks have been using this technique for a long time, and I am going to walk you through it step by step.

First, grab a conventional ratchet strap and slip into the side bar.

Bring it up under the sidebar and hook it onto the side and pull it tight.

Now, take it up and over the pallet at an angle to the other side of the trailer. On this side, thread it through the side rail once, and then once again (two times). With just two fingers, you’ll have complete control over whether that pallet tips or not. Tighten the strap securely against the pallet and the rail. Make sure it’s nice and snug. You can also use a single loop, but for added security, we’re going with two loops this time.

Once you have the strap secured on the pallet, simply use your handheld remote control to raise the trailer until the caster wheels hit the ground. Next, use the remote to move the pallet to the back of the trailer. It will hit the skid plates and slide to the ground; make sure to hold on to the strap until it hits the ground (you don’t have to hold on to the strap too tight, as it does the job for you).

Once it’s on the ground, you can release the strap, unwrap it from the side of the trailer and pull the truck forward out from under the pallet! Voila’ a job well done!

And there you have it! That’s the safe and efficient way to unload a tall pallet.
